Joe Biden’s bad speech…

Vice President Biden opened Pandora’s box. He insisted that the pacifist constitution of Japan was written by the US. Obviously he intended to attack his enemy Mr. Trump but he didn’t think of impact to Japan. His speech may change the pacifist constitution and encourage Japan to have own nuke weapons.
Asahi Shinbun explained its impact,  Left wingers and supporters of the article 9 want to believe it is written or at least supported by Japanese people. However, right wingers want to change the constitution.
Biden’s speech is translated  in Japanese and Twitter spreads his word as a simple headline. For some reasons most of Twitter people insist the pacifist constitution was wrong because it is just forced by the US.
Because of recent speeches of Mr. Trump, some people start saying Japan needs to prepare for own nuclear weapons. Of cause it doesn’t become a main stream because only few believe he will be a new President. However V.P. Biden is in the second highest position in Obama’s administration. More people take his word seriously.
P.M. Abe and his supporters who questions democracy want to sustain the pacifist constitution. They explains the constitution is not a good one because the US forced when Japan was occupied. They concerns not only the article 9 but entire human right issues. Then, left wingers who want to keep the article 9 tried to prove Japanese people got the constitution with own will. BIden’s speech gave a big credit to Abe’s side.
What Biden said was that Japan was forced democracy from the US. It justify haters of democracy to steal full spec of democracy from Japanese people.
Biden’s explanation is very clear. The US forced the constitution to Japan so that we don’t have any military forces and weapons and Japan won’t be any threat forever. However Japan is an independent country and have right to change the constitution. Some insists natural human rights is not Japan’s tradition. They become main stream in Abe’s administration. According to Yosuke Isozaki, the new constitution should be used to teach Japanese citizen the right values based on Sinto’s value. Sounds like an Islamic extremist but it is a reality.
The situation is very similar to Turkey’s Erdoğan’s recent move. Both are questioning to democracy while the US is choosing a new king in reality show manner.
Obviously the move would cost to the US tax payers. China would upset or may use the tension as an excuse to challenge order of the region. Abe and his right winger friends are not wise enough to control the situation. At least, they are counting on the US to help Japan in case of something.
I don’t understand why Biden made such a bad speech. Only reason I can think of is that the US was so attracted  by internal battle between Republicans and Democrats and forgot its impact to alliances. However alliance members are watching what is happening in the US.
